Fox Precision Tooling bespoke automation machinery

Floor space, reach and clearance don't always add up

Every project starts the same way: we look at the part, the process, and the space it has to fit in. Sometimes that points straight to a robot. Sometimes it doesn't - robots need floor space, reach, and clearance to work safely and effectively, and not every site has that to give.

Where space is tight, where the movement needed is repetitive and well-defined, or where a robot would simply be overkill for the job, a purpose-built machine can do it faster, cleaner, and in a fraction of the footprint. We spot that during the conceptual stage, before anything's committed to. If a machine without a robot is genuinely the better solution, that's what we design.

Fox Precision Tooling bespoke machinery concept render

Designed and proven out before a single part is cut

Every bespoke machine is modelled and worked through in full before it reaches the workshop floor. Motion, clearances, and cycle logic all get checked on screen first, so any issue is caught and designed out early - not discovered halfway through a build.

You see the concept before we commit to it too. It's a clearer way to review a design, and it means what gets built is exactly what was agreed.

Three things every bespoke build is built on.

Click a heading to read how each one shapes the finished machine.

Every axis does one job, precisely, at speed. Our bespoke machinery moves on fast, servo-controlled actuators, sized and specified to suit exactly the movement lengths the job needs. Nothing oversized, nothing underpowered - every axis does one job, and does it precisely, at speed, cycle after cycle.

  • Servo-controlled actuators sized to the exact movement the job needs
  • Fast, accurate, and reliable in spaces where a robot arm would never fit

Fast, precise, purpose-built movement in a tight footprint. We've got real experience building this kind of machinery to move and pack confectionery: multiple moving axes, all built to stainless grade for food environments, running at genuine production speed.

That experience carries well beyond confectionery. The same principle applies wherever a product needs to be moved, packed, or processed at speed - in food, pharmaceuticals, general manufacturing, or anywhere else the floor plan won't stretch to a robot cell.

It doesn't just move parts - it sees and verifies them too. We don't build these machines in isolation. We work closely with vision and sensor specialists on every project, so the machine doesn't just move parts, it sees and verifies what it's handling too.

Every detail on every build gets input from someone who knows that detail properly. That's not an upgrade you have to ask for - it's the default. You get the best solution on the market because we've already brought in the right expertise to make sure of it.

How we work.

A close, three-stage process from first conversation through to a finished machine - click a stage below to see how it works.

Every detail about your product, your process, and your constraints - before design work starts. Nothing about the brief gets assumed; if a spec sheet or drawing leaves a question unanswered, we ask it now rather than guessing later.

We attend sites to look at the real-life scenario, not just drawings and data sheets. Seeing the actual line, the actual part, and the actual space it has to fit into catches the details a spec sheet alone never would.

We stay close to you throughout, so the product stays the priority, not just hitting a deadline. Bespoke, expert-checked, and built for the long run - whether or not a robot ends up being part of the answer.

Got a process that needs speed and precision but doesn't have room for a robot? We'll come and take a look.
