Derby-based, British designed and British built - we design and manufacture bespoke end of arm tooling, robot cells and automation machinery for manufacturers across the UK.

Fox Precision Tooling started at the beginning of 2023 in a converted cattle shed in Andrew's home town of Ashbourne, Derbyshire. No impressive facility, no huge workforce, no decades-old company history - just a belief that there was room in the automation industry for an engineering company that cared deeply about quality, detail and doing things properly.
That belief has shaped everything since. Fox Precision Tooling designs and builds EOAT, robot cells and bespoke machinery for some of the most demanding production environments in the country - and it's a family business too, with both of Andrew's sons now working within the company and helping build the next chapter of Fox.

Growth came quickly. As our reputation grew, so did the size and complexity of the projects customers trusted us to deliver - the converted cattle shed that gave Fox its start could only take us so far. In November 2024 we moved into a new engineering facility in Derby, and in 2026 continued growth saw us acquire the neighbouring unit too, taking our engineering and manufacturing space to roughly 10,000 sq ft.
What started as small, bespoke EOAT for injection moulding companies has grown into complete robotic cells, bespoke machinery and automation systems - and the customers trusting us with that work have grown too, from smaller injection moulding businesses to some of the world's largest multinational manufacturers. We don't take that trust for granted; we earn it on every project.
Fox Precision Tooling was founded on a simple observation: most automation problems are actually EOAT problems in disguise. Standard grippers and off-the-shelf tooling get forced onto processes they were never designed for, and the whole cell suffers for it.
We work the other way round. Every project starts with the part, the process and the constraints - and the tooling, cell and machinery are engineered to match, not adapted from a catalogue. Everything is designed and built in-house at our Derby workshop, with the same team following your project from first concept through to commissioning and support.
