Everything you need to know about working with Fox Precision Tooling. If your question isn't here, just ask - we respond to every enquiry within one working day.
What is end of arm tooling (EOAT) and why does it matter?+
End of arm tooling is the device attached to a robot arm that physically interacts with the product - grippers, vacuum cups, magnetic tools and combination end effectors. It's the only part of the cell that actually touches the product, so its design determines cycle time, quality, uptime and safety.
Do you work with all robot brands?+
Yes - we design to the specific wrist flange interface of your robot, whether that's KUKA, FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots, YASKAWA, Kawasaki, Stäubli, or any other brand. We're not tied to any manufacturer, so our recommendations are always based on what's best for your application.
How long does it take to design and deliver bespoke EOAT?+
Lead time depends on complexity, but a typical bespoke EOAT project runs 4–8 weeks from design sign-off to delivery. We respond to every enquiry within one working day, so the fastest way to get a timeline is to tell us about your project.
Is your EOAT CE and UKCA marked?+
Yes - every tool and system we deliver is CE and UKCA marked to Machinery Directive requirements as standard, including a full risk assessment, technical file and declaration of conformity. We also design safety systems to ISO 13849 on all robot cell projects.
Can you design EOAT for food and pharmaceutical environments?+
Yes - this is a specialist area for us. We design hygienic EOAT to BRC and food-industry standards using 316 stainless steel, anodised aluminium and FDA-compliant polymers, IP65/IP67 rated for washdown environments. For pharmaceutical applications we support IQ/OQ/PQ validation with full design history documentation.
Do you supply just the EOAT, or complete robot cells?+
Both. We supply standalone bespoke EOAT to customers who already have an integrator or are building their own cells, and we design and build complete turnkey robot cells - starting with the EOAT and designing everything else around it.
Do you design conveyor systems as well as EOAT?+
Yes - conveyors are rarely a good fit off a shelf, so we design them around your product's shape, weight and environment, integrated cleanly with the EOAT and robot cells around them. See our Conveyor Systems page for more.
What industries do you work with?+
We work with manufacturers across a wide range of sectors, with every project engineered around your specific part, process and environment rather than a one-size-fits-all product. We also hold a dedicated specialism in brick, tile and ceramics - heavy, abrasive, high-temperature handling that standard suppliers don't design for. See our Brick & Tile page for more.
